Load balancers will receive a reboot during this maintenance. This process is expected to complete in under 10 minutes. Varnish will continue to serve cached traffic during most of the update process. High volume applications with heavy reliance on Varnish and Memcache caching may experience temporary performance degradation while the cache rebuilds immediately after the update.

The backlog of queued emails starting from Wednesday, May 5 are being processed through to Office365 (uiowa.edu) recipients, though not necessarily in a first in, first out order.
We believe our hosting provider's email server recovery from May 6th has created a bottleneck of queued emails set to be delivered to Office365 (uiowa.edu) recipients. It is our understanding that they will eventually be delivered.
